We are seeking a skilled Acrylic Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating acrylic components and assemblies, ensuring precision and quality throughout the production process. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in fabrication and mechanical knowledge to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.
This is a temporary role starting 14th September for up to 10 weeks
Duties
- Operate fabrication equipment, including milling machines, to produce acrylic parts according to specifications.
- Use hand tools and tooling to cut, shape, and assemble acrylic components.
- Interpret technical drawings and CAD files using SolidWorks and other CAD software to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Programme and operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automated processes.
- Handle materials efficiently, ensuring proper storage and movement within the warehouse setting.
- Perform welding tasks where necessary to join acrylic or related materials securely.
- Conduct basic measurements and calculations using basic maths skills to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety standards at all times.
- Assist with assembly of finished products, ensuring quality control throughout the process.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fabrication, including milling, welding, and assembly of acrylic or similar materials.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in using hand tools and tooling equipment
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks.
- Ability to handle materials safely within a warehouse environment, including materials handling procedures.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
