We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing UK manufacturing company, who are looking for a Technical Advisor to provide technical support across their operations in Huntingdon and Biggleswade.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong technical skills, good problem-solving abilities and a willingness to learn and develop within a manufacturing environment.
You will work closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Sales, Estimating, Procurement and Aftercare teams, supporting projects from initial enquiry through to manufacture, installation and aftercare.
The role involves regular travel between the Huntingdon and Biggleswade sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support across the business.
- Respond to technical product, design, manufacturing and installation queries.
- Review technical drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Support the preparation and checking of technical drawings and documentation.
- Assist Sales and Estimating teams with technical quotations and customer enquiries.
- Provide technical support to Manufacturing when product or production queries arise.
- Assist with investigating product quality and aftercare issues.
- Identify causes of technical problems and suggest practical solutions.
- Support product development, testing and improvement projects.
- Assist with product design, technical calculations and simulations where required.
- Work with suppliers and Procurement on technical specifications, components and alternative solutions.
- Maintain accurate technical drawings, specifications, manuals and product documentation.
- Support compliance with relevant regulations, standards and certification requirements.
- Assist with product testing and certification activities.
- Identify ways to improve product performance, manufacturing efficiency and quality.
- Provide technical guidance to colleagues across the business.
- Work closely with other departments on continuous improvement projects.
About You
We are looking for someone with a strong technical mindset who enjoys solving problems and working with different teams.
You should be organised, methodical and comfortable working with technical information, with the confidence to communicate with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
The following experience would be an advantage, although not all are essential:
- Previous experience in a Technical Advisor, Technical Engineer, Design Engineer or similar role.
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering or construction products.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience using CAD or other technical design software.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of product testing, certification and regulatory compliance.
- Awareness of UK Building Regulations and relevant industry standards.
- Experience investigating technical or product-related problems.
- Experience supporting customers or internal teams with technical enquiries.
- Full UK driving licence.

Hours: 8:30 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday with 45 mins lunch then 8:30 to 4pm on Friday with an hour lunch - 37.5 working hours.
